The Zoo, Part 2

"What? We're going where today?"

Lucas found one of his thinner relatives.

Of course, we had to have a drink break or seven.

At this point, Lucas was explaining how to determine the difference between a monkey and a chimp.

Ducks are way cool too.

Of course, very little measures up to the penguins.

"That little jerk splashed me, Dad!"

The stingrays are pretty sweet too.

Closer...closer....

Got it! It's slimier than Uncle Jeff's hair after a hockey game!

"Get back here, you stingray!"

Maybe some splashing will convince you.

When Erin took over, awesomeness ensued.

Because while Lucas got excited....

...and tried to reach waaaaayyyyy down deep....

....notice the sunglasses....

...notice they aren't there now...

...because they are now in the stingray pool.

"Whoa...is that a dog?"

"This isn't the same thing that happened to me at Grant's Farm, is it? That was scary."

"Like this?"

"Cool."

Of course, the hippo was pretty cool too.

You ever see a nature video where a large chubby animal carries its young around?

Yeah, it's just like this.

There were lots of fountains in the ground in one area, so we had to stop.

We could have done this in the yard...but it's much more fun here.

...especially since there are other kids around.

His diaper and shorts were so wet, I had to take his shorts and use the air dryer in the restroom to get them to stop dripping everywhere.

He didn't seem to mind waiting for them to dry.

Days like this are tiring.
